Classic Winnie The Pooh Birthday Party Theme
Ages: 3 to 4
Invitation Ideas:
Make cards that have a map of the Hundred Acre Woods printed on
them. On the inside write "Come to the Hundred Acre Woods to join
Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh and all their friends for a
party." You could also make a card that shows Winnie the Pooh
wearing a party hat. Another option is to make a card that looks
like a honey pot. Instead of having it open up make it like a
pocket and have the information for the party come out of the top
of the honey pot.
Games and Activities:
Play Pin the tail on Eeyore. You just can't pass this up.
It works so well and children in this age group love the game. You
can have a large picture of Eeyore printed. For a little twist on
the game you can explain to the children that Eeyore has lost his
tail again and they need to find it and put it back. Have the
tails hidden throughout the party area, each child gets a turn to
find the tail then be blindfolded and try to get it back on Eeyore.
Play Pooh Sticks. Well at least a modified version of it.
In the original Disney classic movies Winnie the Pooh and his
friends drop sticks into a river on one side of the bridge and the
one that reaches the other side first is the winner. In this
modified version the kids get to decorate a paint stirring stick
(often paint stores will give these to you for free). Provide the
kids with markers and stickers to decorate them. Get a small
wading pool and mark a target on the inside with a black permanent
marker. Have the kids stand at a certain point away from the pool
and throw their sticks into the "river". The kid that gets the
closest to the center of the target wins.
Play Hero Party Bounce. Get a large sheet and have the kids
hold onto the end of it. If you have stuffed toys of Piglet and
Pooh put them on the sheet with a couple of light balls. Let the
kids bounce the items by moving the sheet up and down.
Food Ideas:
Cake and Ice cream are a must (since everyone in the Hundred Acre
Woods enjoys it at Eeyore's party). You can serve the ice cream in
bowls that look like honey pots. You can also make honeybee
cookies, by putting sliced almond pieces in between vanilla
cookies with cream on the inside. Then use chocolate frosting to
put the strips and faces on the bees. Black string licorice can be
used as antennae.
