Little Einstein’s Themed Party
Ages: 2 to 5
Invitations:
Make a card shaped like Rocket and write on the inside: “We’re
going on a trip with our favorite Rocket ship to __(your child’s
name)________ birthday party!”
Decoration Ideas
Get posters of musical instruments and put them up in the party
area. If you have instruments you don’t mind putting out they area
a fun addition. Put out balloons and streamers in primary colors
and cut out large music notes from black paper to hang from the
ceiling.
Craft Ideas
Give the kids empty oatmeal containers, cereal boxes, rubber
bands, popsicle sticks, toilet paper rolls, and items for
decorating and help them make their own musical instruments.
Game Ideas
Have a sing-a-long
Make a CD or tape of your child’s favorite songs and let the kids
sing or play the instruments they made along with it. The kids can
also dance.
Musical Instrument Hunt
Hide pictures of musical instruments in the party area. Have the
kids sit down and tell them that they need to help Rocket with a
mission. Show them an outline of an instrument. Then have the
“blast off” in Rocket by crouching down and patting their legs and
getting faster until they say blast off! Then they can go look for
the instrument. Repeat the process until all the instruments have
been found or until the kids are ready to do something else.
Modify favorite party games to fit the theme. Have Rocket’s
Musical Chairs, play pin the baton on Leo, June Says dance moves
and so on.
Food
Ideas
Make a cake in the shape of a music note or you can make a cake
that looks like rocket, by making a round cake and adding two
cupcakes at the back. Frost the cake red, add windows, and other
items that are found on Rocket. Offer your child’s favorite foods
as other refreshments.
