Ladybug Theme Party
Ages: 1 to 3
Invitations:
Invitations
will set the mood for the theme of this party. Make pretty ladybug
invitations that open their wings to reveal the party information
underneath.
See easy instructions for
DIY Ladybug Party
Invitations.
Decorations:
Red tablecloths or a red and white/black paper table runner will
decorate your table for the theme. Alternated red and black paper
plates. The ladybugs made by the children in the party crafts
section next, can also be made up in advance and glued to the
walls (using glue dots) to decorate the venue for the party.
Blow up red balloons and add black dots using a marker. Tie them
up in clusters at the party venue.
Party Crafts & Activities:
Kids
will enjoy making
Paper Plate Ladybugs
at the party. After they are done, let them make their own
Ladybug Party Favor Pails
and then use them to collect candy on an organized 'Candy Hunt'
around the room or which you can fill with later with favors and
candy.
You can also make the
Ladybug Party Hats
in advance except for the black dots and have the toddlers enjoy
adding black dots to them.
Bug Dress Up
Hand over antennae headbands, little wings and paint the faces of
the little guests to turn them into ladybugs.
Games:
Play 'Lady Bug Toss' along the lines of bean bag toss by making a
fabric ladybug to toss inside a bucket. The same ladybug can also
be used to play the simple game of
Pass the Ladybug.
After the kids have dressed up as bugs, let them play
Musical Drop.
Food Ideas:
Dress
up food in red and black/white dots. Frost cupcakes with red
icing. Make red glace icing petit fours. Use red and black
sprinkles over doughnuts. Set red and green Jell-O in layers in
small glasses. Ice cookies making them look like ladybugs.
Bake a cake in the shape of a ladybug or try our idea of
converting a sheet cake to a leafy scene with little 'cupcake
ladybugs' -
Ladybug Themed Birthday Cake.
